Ronna Huckaby was born in Fort Worth, Texas and adopted at six days old. She grew up in Bowie, Texas, a small town in North Central Texas. Her parents told her of her adoption before she was even able to understand. Growing up knowing she was adopted was just her way of life.
She received her masters degree in education (M.Ed.) from The University of North Texas and is a Licensed Professional Counsleor (LPC). She has spent her career working in the non-profit sector working with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, families in poverty as well as individuals and families suffering from substance abuse addiction. She is currently the Vice President for Client Solutions for Catholic Charities, Fort Worth.
Somewhere Out There is her first book. She tells her story and experience in growing up as an adopted child.
She is married to Billy Huckaby. They live in Fort Worth, Texas. She has two beautiful "bonus" daughters-Cindy and Stacy, 2 dogs-Sadie and Tucker and three cats- Nabor, Sonny and Raymond.
She spends her time reading, cooking and watching the Food Network. She describes herself as a "cat enthusiast", wine lover and TV addict.
