About RonnaRonna Huckaby was born in Fort Worth, Texas and adopted at six days old. She grew up in Bowie, Texas, a small town in North Central Texas.
She received her masters degree in education (M.Ed.) from The University of North Texas and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has spent her career working in the non-profit sector working with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, families in poverty as well as individuals and families suffering from substance abuse addiction. She currently does clinical counseling and executive coaching. Her most recent book Somewhere Out There, There's More: My Experience of Adoption, My Search for Understanding and the Twist that Changed Everything was released from Eakin Press, January 2026. She is married to Billy Huckaby. They live in Fort Worth, Texas. She has two beautiful "bonus" daughters-Cindy and Stacy, three adorable granddaughters-Presley Grace, Madilyn Kae, and Heidi Rae. Three cats- Raymond, Dottie and Benji plus one dog, Beau. She spends her time reading, cooking and watching the Food Network. She describes herself as a "cat enthusiast", wine lover and classic TV trivia buff. |
